Making History!

Image
Shira "Norma Jean" Benson" was the chosen artist to create street banners for Historic Adair Park located in the West End of Atlanta, Georgia. These banners were created for the beautification of the neighborhood and to promote street calming as we all know, Atlanta traffic is getting pretty out of hand. Art is an important aspect of our community. We are promoting street art in the hopes that our inner city drivers will slow down for pedestrians and admire the beautiful artwork the city of Atlanta has to offer. JUNETEENTH ATL

Image
Juneteenth is the oldest known commemoration of the emancipation of slavery. Every year, millions of people across the globe come together to share this experience in the form of a festival and parade entitled, " Juneteenth "! This year, Atlanta hosted it's annual Juneteenth celebration at Morris Brown College located in Atlanta, GA. There was live music, food, beverages, entertainment, African dance, businesses from all over the world, a fashion show, parade, and much much more! I had the honor of participating in this event as a Fashion Vendor and Artist. So many people came out to support this event. Many Father's participated, as the event was also celebrating Father's Day. I am glad to have been a part of this experience and I look forward to next year! Designs by Shira Benson
