Start Your New Year with Love: Recap of Enchanted

I am beyond thankful for the outcome of my most recent Fashion Show, Enchanted. It was truly and Enchanted experience. One that I will never forget.

The purpose of my signature handmade fabric Crowns are to bring confidence to people and their wardrobe. I come from a background where there is little opportunity for people to showcase their talents. My mission is to create a platform for models and individuals to showcase their talent, boosting their confidence as signified with my signature handmade fabric Crowns.

Enchanted took place December 2nd, 2017 from 6-10 PM at Iwi Fresh Garden Day Spa in Atlanta, GA. Our guest enjoyed fashion designs, vegan horderves, music, and cocktails in a garden setting. The fashion show began at 8:00PM. Our models graced the runway barefoot, in all-white clothing Designed by Shira "Norma Jean" Benson. This moment would change the standards of traditional fashion shows forever as the models in their most natural form strolled down the runway with a slow seductive catwalk wearing Norma Jean's fierce Original Crowns.

We thank each and every one of you, and my supporters. It was a success! I am definitely taking this show on the road and I look forward to the future. Cheers to 2018 !

NUSICFEST !!!

   On November 30, Norma Jean and Femme took a trip to Charlotte, NC to support their friends in their event, NusicFest . There were live performances by Carson   (a rockband) and BSE (a rapping group), who are both from Charlotte. There were also clothing lines present with vendor booths to promote their lines such as Baked Goods Apparel , HotDogWater , and Materialistic Morphine . The event took place in McKnight Hall on UNCC campus and the doors opened at 6:30 PM. There were a lot of new faces and Norma Jean was even able to promote herself as a stylist and artist. We definitely enjoyed the event!  Below: This the rockand Carson. A picture is worth a thousand words....

About every month or so, NC A&T's Art Department exhibits different students' art work in the main art buidling, Frazier. For November and December, students from Elon University and of course, A&T had a chance to exhibit their work. This recent display was Graphics. This piece was done by Kendria Latrice (NC A&T). I don't know her exact meaning behind this piece but I believe it to be a  Black Jesus vs White Jesus concept. This would be the "White Jesus". He is characterized by his long pointy nose, small lips, and pale skin.  This is most likely the "Black Jesus". He is characterized by his full nose, plump lips, and the dark shading. This piece was done by Qunicy Smith (NC A&T) . Quincy along with Elon students did a theme based on the tragedy of police forces killing innocent people. This is a student from Elons' work.
