Street Art ALERT!!

Greetings Followers: 

MAJOR SUCCESS ALERT: I, Shira (Norma Jean) Benson was selected as the artist to create Street Banners for the Adair Park Neighborhood located in Southwest Atlanta, Georgia. I am super excited about this project. Each banner represents and illustrates everyday life in Adair Park. My artwork will grace the streets of Atlanta for decades but not only that, these beautiful works of art will bring street calming to the evolving neighborhoods of South Atlanta for drivers and pedestrians as on lookers drive slowly admiring my beautiful artwork. 

Saturday, April 9th, Adair Park and I teamed up with neighbors, children, and local businesses to bring my banner designs to life! We all sat down with team leaders and painted each banner in groups. Thank you all for your participation and for your endless support. Completed Banners coming soon :)

NUSICFEST !!!

   On November 30, Norma Jean and Femme took a trip to Charlotte, NC to support their friends in their event, NusicFest . There were live performances by Carson   (a rockband) and BSE (a rapping group), who are both from Charlotte. There were also clothing lines present with vendor booths to promote their lines such as Baked Goods Apparel , HotDogWater , and Materialistic Morphine . The event took place in McKnight Hall on UNCC campus and the doors opened at 6:30 PM. There were a lot of new faces and Norma Jean was even able to promote herself as a stylist and artist. We definitely enjoyed the event!  Below: This the rockand Carson. Norma Jean had the pleasure of interviewing celebrities such Montell Jordan, Kelly Price, and Day 26, at Q Parker's Annual "Q Parker and Friends" Fundraiser Event. Q Parker & Friends  is an annual live music event. Q Parker of legendary R&B Group 112, in conjunction with his musician friends come together to put on a show for the community, fans and music lovers alike.
