A picture is worth a thousand words....

About every month or so, NC A&T's Art Department exhibits different students' art work in the main art buidling, Frazier. For November and December, students from Elon University and of course, A&T had a chance to exhibit their work. This recent display was Graphics.

This piece was done by Kendria Latrice (NC A&T). I don't know her exact meaning behind this piece but I believe it to be a Black Jesus vs White Jesus concept.
This would be the "White Jesus". He is characterized by his long pointy nose, small lips, and pale skin.
This is most likely the "Black Jesus". He is characterized by his full nose, plump lips, and the dark shading.

This piece was done by Qunicy Smith (NC A&T). Quincy along with Elon students did a theme based on the tragedy of police forces killing innocent people.
This is a student from Elons' work.

  1. I like these, The White Jesus vs. Black Jesus piece especially. I noticed the white Jesus has a halo around his head whereas the black Jesus is wearing the crown of thorns, maybe symbolizing the glory of being white and pure versus the hardship and discomfort of being black.
