Norma Jean

This is my very first commission ever! I was so excited. A girl from Charlotte, NC asked me to complete three 9X12 panels of her and her friends for a Christmas gift. I used Acrylic paint and for the background some textured paper I found at Adam's Bookstore (Greensboro, NC). This is the original picture she sent me. These are the completed paintings done by Norma Jean. 

Back in the 10th Grade, I completed a simple drawing of the infamous, Scarface . I remember it taking me about 20 minutes. I ALSO remember my sister claiming she hadn't seen it when I just found it in her room today... But on a good note: My talent continues to grow!

I was asked by a friend of mine to accompany him in a photoshoot. Nothing fancy just to help a photographer out with some Autumn shots for his portfolio. The photographer was JJ Robinson of Greensboro, NC. The photoshoot took place at a park in downtown Greenboro. It was fun and playful! We got some good shots. The Models were Lee (Harvey Quinn-NC A&T), Kori Nicole (Kendra-NC A&T) and yours truly. Here's a few shots.... We all got the opportunity to express our own personal style. We were the stylist. Fashion Tips from NormaJean_: Ch ris tma s Swe ater s It's the week before Christmas. Why not reunite with classmates and local friends by throwing a Christmas Sweater Party !! Indeed everyone at the lake house had on a Christmas Sweater... [ CHECK IT OUT ]  ... there was every type of Christmas sweater there you could imagine...   ...and of course there was beer pong! This was my favorite sweater of the night.   ...and of course I was loving his cheetah red and black scarf! Good Times! :] 

About every month or so, NC A&T's Art Department exhibits different students' art work in the main art buidling, Frazier. For November and December, students from Elon University and of course, A&T had a chance to exhibit their work. This recent display was Graphics. This piece was done by Kendria Latrice (NC A&T). I don't know her exact meaning behind this piece but I believe it to be a  Black Jesus vs White Jesus concept. This would be the "White Jesus". He is characterized by his long pointy nose, small lips, and pale skin.  This is most likely the "Black Jesus". He is characterized by his full nose, plump lips, and the dark shading. This piece was done by Qunicy Smith (NC A&T) . Quincy along with Elon students did a theme based on the tragedy of police forces killing innocent people. This is a student from Elons' work. 

...for her last photoshoot, Norma decided to experiment a little with make up, as she does all the time (it's one of the pluses of being a creative person)

So Norma Jean decided to become a model since everyone insists that she should do so. As an Intern for Standout Vintage Fashion, Norma and a few other girls, do weekly photoshoots of new store arrivals... check it out ! This is Ameera. She also models for Standout Fashion.
